Facebook Page

Ahem. I have finally caved to all the pressure, and created a Facebook page. I realised not everyone uses blogger, but still wanted to see / comment on my work updates.
During the process of setting up this page, Facebook "advised" me to "like" my own page so I don't look like a loser. Interesting, eh?

Illustrator of the Week

I am the illustrator of the week on Childrensillustrators.com! Considering I've just joined, this is good news.  Woop woop!

My Lucky Hubby

This quick sketch was done by my better half. It's a very accurate portrait of myself after-hours. I still spend a lot of hours emailing clients, researching and complaining until about 1-2am every night including the weekends. Because I'm crazy.

Tori - Character Design

A little character design based on myself as a child.

Imagination

For today's children, who are lavished with over-rendered hyperrealistic images. I hope they still have room for some good old-fashioned imagination. I know I still do!

RIP Sendak

This post is to mark the end of an era.
Dan got me this thoughtful gift for Christmas 2 years ago. It's a very rare find with Maurice Sendak's autograph in it. And I thought I'd share it on my blog with the other fans.

Boot House Cutaway

If tiny people could live inside a shoe, they would need to be properly prepared.
They could also put a slice of lemon in the boot and microwave it to get rid of any odour.

Illustration Friday: "Sight" - Ever wondered what was going on inside those abandoned boots?

Caricatures for MCK Design & Print

The wonderful team of MCK Design and Print in Dunedin asked me to create caricatures for them.
This project couldn't have gone better. They were more than helpful to produce enough personal information about themselves for me, and just let me do whatever I wanted with it.

And voila! Everybody's happy with the outcome.
