Birthday Fish for Dad

My mum had recently emailed me a subtle reminder about my dad's birthday in 2.5 weeks.
"A card is a must. Delayed cards will simply be unacceptable".
I used to give them handmade cards (to save money) but that all stopped when I found better things to do.
I thought it would be a nice reminiscence down the memory lane for all of us if I sent him a handmade card again this year. So here it is.

A happy snapper mounted on the wall, celebrating my dad's birthday (my dad is a kayak enthusiast / scuba instructor, hence the fish) I hope he likes it.
It's a pretty small painting. Probably the smallest I've done so far. I have midget hands, so the card doesn't look too small in the photo, but it's 12x9cm (5x3.5 inches).

Website Graphics - Painted

The paintings are finally done! Whew! And look how pretty they are. Awww.
The watercolour paintings are always quite nerve-racking and somewhat time consuming, but once they are finished, they look much more interesting than the digital media.

Website Sketch Update

The drawings for the background, foreground and the buttons are all done... Just need to finish painting them. Yes, paint. That's what I do now.

Website Sketch

Dan and I decided to share a website. This is a partial sketch for what I want the front page to look like. Hopefully I'll get it finished soon and get the website running too!
On another note, Daredevil was on TV just now. I had never watched it, and wow. I should've kept it that way.

Merry Christmas! It's the end of 2011

This year, we're having a white Christmas!
Dan and I made a few of these pop-up cards for our family. Done in watercolours and cardboard.
The three of them in their glory.

Some photos from the WIP
A very quick prototype
Makin a mess up on the loft
The cutout pieces are ready to be glued on
And they go on the card

Me hard at work
Merry Christmas, everybody! May nobody eat too much yellow snow.

Comic Book

I've been privileged to work on a comic book project with a team of talented artists.
It's been a long term project which has lasted almost a year (and still going!), but it's exciting to face the challenges of storytelling, and keeping the consistency throughout the series. I guess having to alter my style for the different demographic makes it even more challenging.
Here are a couple of samples of my work.
Dan's been helping me out with the colours and I've been finishing off the pages with the lettering. It's been a fun project and I'm glad I got to try it out.

Stripes

Dan was working on his new drawing for Illustration Friday.
The new word is "Stripes", so I decided to join in. This is just a quick drawing in ink on paper.
